Dynamic Vines
East Dulwich / London
Completed 2025
Project duration 24 months
Conservation Area within Southwark Local Authority
The UK's biggest supplier of biodynamic wines to restaurants wanted something different. After years running their Bermondsey warehouse and tasting room, they were ready to bring great wine directly to their local community – somewhere relaxed where people could actually enjoy discovering biodynamic wines without the fuss.
The Brief
Turn an old fishmonger's shop into a welcoming wine destination. Having just finished the Mons Cheesemongers next door, we knew exactly what they meant about creating spaces that celebrate craft without being intimidating.
We designed everything around one idea: wine should bring people together, not put them off. The custom oak shelving displays bottles at angles that make them easy to read, while the crafted joinery details echo the care that goes into making exceptional wine.
The centrepiece is a big communal table where people can taste, learn, and chat – more kitchen table than boardroom. When the shopfront opens up to the street, the whole thing feels like an extension of the neighbourhood.
Hidden sliding dog gates, stable doors, and a dedicated doggy bedroom mean the pups are as comfortable as their owners. Playful heritage colours create delightful sightlines through the original panelled hallway, with contrasting pops that bring personality to every room.
A charming garden studio where our client creates the artwork that now decorates her beautifully restored home.
